Project Logistics Built on Operational Experience

Our project cargo experience dates back to the early years of MIDTRANS and includes the door-to-door movement of complete production lines, industrial machinery, electrical transformers, telecommunications equipment, petrochemical materials, oversized units, and exceptionally heavy cargo. Between 1999 and 2005, MIDTRANS managed the international logistics for the LAB petrochemical industries project in Syria. The operation involved more than 300 truck movements from Bulgaria and Eastern Europe, project cargo vessels from Burgas to Tartous, air freight from Europe, China, India, and the United States, dangerous goods transported in ISO tanks, customs clearance, inland transport, and final delivery to the project site.

Heavy and Oversized Cargo Solutions

MIDTRANS has managed project units requiring specialised trailers, reinforced transport routes, engineering support, and carefully coordinated port operations. Our experience includes machinery measuring approximately 12 metres in length, 3 metres in width, and 4 metres in height, with project units weighing up to approximately 380 tonnes. Where conventional lifting equipment was unavailable or unsuitable, MAFI roll trailers and Ro-Ro vessels were used to move oversized cargo safely without relying entirely on shore-based heavy cranes.

International Project Partnerships

MIDTRANS developed a significant part of its project cargo expertise through long-term operational cooperation with JAS Projects of Genoa, Italy, and through collaboration with engineering and industrial partners including INCO Group. These partnerships supported the movement of complex projects, heavy machinery, liquid chemical cargo, chartered vessels, and specialised industrial equipment across Europe, Syria, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other Middle Eastern markets.
