FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about our record, our offices and how we write the case studies.
Do the case studies name the clients?
Most do not. The case studies describe the cargo, the route and the work. The petrochemical plant case study names its client, the United Joint Stock Company for Petrochemical Industries in Damascus.
How long has MIDTRANS been in freight?
MIDTRANS traces its roots to International Transit Company, founded by Deeb Al-Khouli in Syria in 1960. Khaldoun Al-Khouli established MIDTRANS in Damascus in 1998. The business is now in its third generation.
Where does MIDTRANS have offices?
We have offices in Dubai (head office), Jebel Ali, Damascus, Tartous and Latakia, and work with a partner in Guangzhou and Hong Kong. We also work with approved agents in Houston and Toronto.
Which routes do you use for project cargo into Syria?
China to Latakia direct, China to Mersin with road transit onward, and transhipment through Jebel Ali. By road, we run from Turkey, from Beirut and Tripoli, and from Aqaba. Egypt connects through Alexandria and Damietta. The route is chosen for the cargo and the delivery site.
Can MIDTRANS handle a complete plant move?
Yes. For one petrochemical plant in Syria we ran more than 300 truck movements and two chartered vessels. Send the equipment list, dimensions and site location, and we will review the route and handling before quoting.
Are the photographs on the case study pages from the projects described?
No. They come from the MIDTRANS project cargo gallery and show the type of cargo and handling described on each page. They are not photographs of the specific work in the case study.
